Willamette Week Voters Guide You Can't Make This Stuff Up! My Opponent

"When asked this time about tax reform, for example, Taylor wasn’t prepared to talk in any depth about what she might prefer, except to say a more progressive system would be better". "Of all the issues Oregon faces—taxes, mental health care, school reform, to name a few—she says her absolutely No. 1 issue is e-cigarettes. She wants to pass laws against minors buying e-cigs and how they can be marketed. That’s a pretty narrow agenda".

Oregonians Voter Guide What's More Important Ban E-Cigs or Jobs

Don't Let Your Vote Go To Waste: Vote Tim McMenamin For State Representative HD 41:
If you could introduce one bill in the 2015 legislative session that would become law, what would it be and why should Oregonians support it? Timothy E McMenamin: Repeal SB 100 passed in 1973. This would streamline industrial land use laws and restrict excessive regulations. Oregons Land Conservation and Developement Commission (LCDC) is an endless quagmire for Oregon cities, who simply can't jump through the hoops necessary to expand their Urban Growth Boundries (UGB). In the last decade efforts by five cities plus Metro to expand their UGB's have failed, having been rejected by either LCDC or the Oregon appellate courts. We need to remove these barriers to economic developement and job growth.

Why are our roads so bad?

Why is our economy constantly lagging behind the rest of the nation? Why do our kids have to leave the state to find jobs? "Beyond The Oregon Myth" is a documentary that asks these questions and dissects some of the more mythical and utopian views of Oregon held by our friends on the east coast. We love our state but we know what is really going on here and we know we deserve better.

Thank You State Representative Jane Lokan For Your Endorsement!!

Talked with Former Rep. Jane Lokan (R-HD41) she originally secured funding to create the Sabin-Schellenberg Tech. Education Center in North Clackamas School District. Sabin is a great example of an efficient delivery model for career and technical education. College isn't the right path for every kid, it wasn't in my family, that is why Rep. Lokan sponsored Bills for millions in new grants specifically targeted at career and technical ed. programs all across the state. That is why I am proud to have the Endorsement of former Representative Jane Lokan.

Last Minute Tax Increase On Small Businesses!!

SB 1534-B has been amended to increase taxes on small business by changing the out-of-state income rates for business. Not only is this a back-door tax but a paperwork nightmare for businesses who would have to identify the geographic location of their income with some income being taxed differently. Do you know which of your customers come from Vancouver versus Portland? The fact that this is happening during the last few days (or hours) of Session means there is a real-life risk of a swift tax attack on Oregon business to steal away their tax relief set by the 2013 Legislature. This tax would help boost government coffers (maybe to fund their 13% growth and $11 billion PERS crisis).

Tim McMenamin Gets "A" Rating from Oregon Firearms Federation!!

From Press release:
"Candidates who have not held office before but answered our survey were, obviously, rated based on survey answers. It is our policy to give a maximum rating of B+ to someone with no voting record. However, we make exceptions for candidates, who in spite of a lack of voting record, have a clear history of public support for the Second Amendment. (For example Bill Post who is seeking a House seat in the 25th district and Timothy McMenamin in the 41st District.)
Candidates who are NOT incumbents, but whom we recommend, are listed in bold, italics and underlined."

Tim McMenamin, Candidate for State Representative in House District 41: Sellwood, Westmoreland, Eastmoreland, Milwaukie, Oak Grove, and the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood. As a Pharmacst and former Manager of a large Community Pharmacy, I understand our issues in health care and how to manage a business. Like most Oregonians, I am deeply concerned about Oregon's spending priorities. We have little to show for the alarming growth in spending. Oregon's government has lacked accountability and transparency. Poor decisions have led to over spending and waste. As your State Representative I will work to promote job growth and long-term economic stability. I value hard work and will work to make it possible for businesses to do what they do best --- create jobs and ignite the economy. Regulations should guide, not restrict, and tax policy should encourage, not discourage, entrepreneurial risk-taking and small business creation. See More at www.timmcmenamin.com

In the Supreme Court of the United States 10-1470

QUESTIONS PRESENTED:
In this action, the respondent custodial mother (Erica Ewing) in a divorced family reverted to her maiden name and obtained a name-change order for the three minor children from a trial court in an ex parte proceeding by submitting a false affidavit with respect to the father’s support for and involvement in the children’s lives. When he learned of the change, the father re-opened the proceeding and obtained a reversal of the original order. The mother did not
advise the children of the reversal of the falselyobtained name change, and, at trial, the court found that the children’s time under the falsely-obtained name contributed to their best interest in retaining that name, going forward. In doing so, the trial court rejected controlling Oregon Supreme Court precedent as based on outdated"social mores.” The
Oregon Court of Appeals (Ellen Rosenblum) affirmed without decision, and the Oregon Supreme Court denied review.

Oregon League of Women Voters Look and Compare!!

Given the changing health care landscape, what do you see as key health care opportunities and challenges for Oregon in the next few years? Timothy E McMenamin
The Affordable Care Act’s text is unambiguous about how the insurance exchanges are supposed to work. According to the law, federal subsidies are available through exchanges"established by the State.” Thirty-six states didn’t set up exchanges. In some cases, their elected leaders decided not to. Other states tried to build their own. In many cases—among them Oregon, Maryland, Vermont, and Hawaii―they failed.

The no-brainer bunch Don't let You Vote Be Taken For Granted!!

Tim McMenamin has Unparralled name recognition along with a hard work ethic. Tim has been out in House District 41 for four years now, but his opponent has yet to show any commitment to the District. Rather than pretending an endorsement would make the slightest bit of difference in such races, we'll simply point out the obvious: The candidates belonging to the party with the huge registration advantage are going to win. This would be the case even if a disadvantaged candidate had unparalleled name recognition, as Timothy McMenamin does in Portland's House District 41. He'll still be beaten by Democratic candidate Kathleen Taylor, thanks to her party's nearly three-to-one registration advantage. That's to bad. Tim has worked hard for his District and this writer thinks he deserves to win.

Measure 90 Limits Voter Choice in November, Backed by Corporate Special Interests

Corporations and millionaire CEOs drafted and funded Measure 90 to make it easier for them to elect politicians who will side with their narrow corporate agenda, at the expense of working Oregonians.
Measure 90 virtually guarantees that minor parties and independent candidates will not appear on the November ballot. In"Top-Two” states California and Washington, 25% of November races are now between candidates from just one major political party.

Vote NO on Ballot Measure 88!

The truth is: Ballot Measure 88 states only that "Drivers will need to... follow current Oregon law regarding proof of insurance." Which refers only to applicants taking the road test - there must be proof of insurance for the car in which they're tested - that is the only requirement for insurance! An applicant can borrow a car that is insured, take their driving test and walk out the door with a state issued ID - and never purchase car insurance.
