Pledge to Hold Politicians Accountable for Redefining Marriage

"I keep seeing "warnings" from gay rights groups, about places where gay marriage is now legal and employers are now requiring domestic partners to marry in order to continue receiving spousal benefits. Frankly, I don't see the problem with this. The LGBT crowd wanted spousal benefits because you weren't allowed to marry - so you got them. Then LGBT wanted to just be able to marry - so you got that. Now your argument for spousal benefits without marriage is no longer applicable. You can't have EVERYTHING. You wanted the same treatment as straight people. You got it. Now live with it!" The Gathering of the Eagles – 2013

We freely use words like"Freedom”,"Liberty”."God”,"Country”, and"Patriotism.” We talk about inalienable rights, smaller government, and less taxes. We talk about a government"of the people, by the people, and for the people”; not a government"of the bureaucrats, by the liberals, and for the socialists.”

Kitzhaber says a sales tax would be a better way to pay for schools.

What Do You Think? Gov. John Kitzhaber says a sales tax or statewide property tax would be a better way to pay for schools.
"It's a crazy way to fund education, totally," Kitzhaber said about the state's near total reliance on income taxes. "The way to change it is to put something on the ballot that either increases income taxes, or adds either a statewide property tax or a state sales tax."

Carla Castano asks Tough Questions of Jeff Cogen

Cogen dodged numerous KOIN 6 News interview requests over the last few weeks. KOIN 6 News signed up to ask the commissioners questions during the allotted time."Since Chair Cogen did not answer questions following last week’s vote on his future, there are still many unanswered questions. I believe the public has a right to ask these questions,” reporter Carla Castano said.
