Salem forum to discuss increased logging on O&C lands

Conservation groups Oregon Wild and Friends of Marion County are hosting a public forum this evening centered on a bill that would increase logging on the state’s Oregon and California Railroad lands. Speakers will include economists, environmentalists and business owners opposed to the O&C Trust, Conservation, and Jobs Act, which passed the U.S. House on Sept. 20. Environmental groups, like Oregon Wild, have said the bill would be destructive for public lands, damage watersheds and water quality, along with wildlife and salmon habitat.
